Matt Lemay has a long history of Matador worship.

the Smashing Pumkins line was questionable, but other than that, hopefully this will turn on a new generation to the Men of Chavez

the Smashing Pumkins line was questionableIndeed, if anything, they remind me of Hum rather than SP. Of course, that may be because I like Hum whereas . . .

I won't deny that there's certain moments of similarity between Chavez and SP's guitar riffs, but you know, that's OK. Hum I can hear as well.

well i haven't read the PF review, but as someone who missed them the first time around (doh!) and has just received BDWHY i'd say upon the first couple listens that they sound more like a melding of Shellac and Fugazi to me. melodic but noisy and distorted as well. . . needless to say i'm really diggin' it.
