... if you're even remotely considering seeing matmos tonight at the symphony space, all i can say is: GO. holy crap they were fantastic last night - with so percussion, zeena parkins, and a guitarist joining them on stage, they were eight strong for most of the night, so the songs were more "live" than ever. really, really f'in awesome, "Y.T.T.E." into "for the trees" especially. they played a bunch of new songs too - one that was basically a symphony of aluminum cans, and another that involved a closely mic'ed block of dry ice. and of course "steams and sequins for larry levan" was there to end the set properly.
and since it's at the symphony space, it all starts promptly and ends early. you have no excuse.
