Why does S.M. keep mentioning John Peel during the 7/7/94 JJJ show on WZ:SS?

That plus the near total lack of any audience noise makes me think they're mislabeled BBC sessions, but I don't know Pavement well enough to be able to tell.

I think it has something to do with the fact that they play 'brink of the clouds' and 'easily fooled'... these were new songs, possibly they didn't have names yet and the only other time they were played were at the peel sessions (that appear on crcr reissue). if you notice-he says 'peel 4', and the song they proceed to play is the 4th song from that previously mentioned peel session.
