Wowee Zowee, what a great album. The first time I heard "We Dance" I knew this album was gonna be great. It is all over the board! And the critics tore this album apart...maybe they didn't give it time. There isn't one single album out today that is even 10% as good as Wowee Zowee...not even Pig Lib. If I recall, I think Malkmus was "smoking a lot of grass" during the making of this album. Sure brought out his best though!
This album is number two on my fave Pavement albums just closely behind "Slanted and Enchanted"...my introduction to Pavement.

Anyone else feel so strongly for this album?

Any possiblity this album will be reissued with bonus tracks/outtakes any time down the road?

Lastly, anyone know where the album title, Wowee Zowee came from?

My mistake on the lyric, I could of sworn he said "castration feel" all these years. Oh well, thanks for the correction.

I always thought it was castration field, which conjured up some pretty weird images in my head. But listening to it now it definitely is fear.

Yeah, I liked CRCR very much, but WZ is what cemented my love of Pavement. I really can't listen to that record without mentally being transported back to the spring of 1995.

I remember being pissed off that Rolling Stone gave it a less-than-great review, something like two and a half stars.
