Any chance the old issues of !Escandalo! exist somewhere in PDF format, and if so, that they might show up on the website? I got one of these with my mail order a long time ago, and found it uniquely AWESOME. And the web archive sans pictures (http://www.matadorrecords.com/escandalo/index.html) is kind of a letdown.

I have a number of these things, though none of them quite live up to this bit (http://www.matadorrecords.com/escandalo/1/zcr.html). Still amusing after all these years!

Gregg - A weak effort from one of the immense multitude of "innovative" bands that has sprung up during this uncharacteristically fertile time in American music. Their musical influences are obvious: their own previous records. Easily intimidated critics will lazily rewrite Matador's press releases insuring this band a permanent place in the temporary "Indie Rock Hall of Fame." (The Hall will be shut down in 2007 due to lack of interest.)
prophetic!
-edit-
actually i think i mean, "well timed," but whatever.
