What is it with these crazy Cat Power fans? I was reading on there and somebody wrote Chan a poem, and another person feels the need to get in touch with her. This is just insane, these people need help. I saw S.M. in concert the other day and I was like, "hey good show" (the thing is I yelled it in a crowd of people while he was exiting the stage), and then I left. That is what I call a healthy rock and roll relationship.

Anyway I should've posted this on the Cat Power board, but those folks would probably track me down and torture me beyond belief. Just wanted to know if you guys noticed that most Cat Power fans are insane?

A few friends and I waited outside of St. Andrew's Hall for S.M. when they played in Detroit a few years ago. Heather came out first, and she seemed very drunk and tap-danced for us.

Stephen came out later and came across as a very cool guy. Some people had him sign posters and albums, but all I had was a dollar bill. So I got him to sign it. Perhaps I should sell it on EBay someday. I shook his hand to say thanks for all the great music, and he came across as very appreciative for the few of us waiting out there.


I guess I blather about this because he came across as just a very cool guy, and it all came across as a "healthy rock and roll experience." I don't want to be his friend or know what's inside of his head. I just dig his music very much.

I think Matador should have a contest on poems to GC. Maybe something like this:
