Anyone else see last night's Jicks show at Irving Plaza? Thoughts? I thought it was great - not a surprise, but they are leagues tighter than during the tour for the first album. They played all of Pig Lib except for Craw Song ... Animal Midnight was fantastic, the same for Sheets. Phantasies was also excellent - maybe the biggest response from the crowd. I really liked the acoustic SM was playing during Vanessa From Queens and Ramp of Death.

I think it was a Beatles cover they dropped into at the end of the first set (Tomorrow Never Knows?) - anyone know what they started the encore with? Joanna seemed really psyched that they were playing it...

Fantastic set last night. The Beatles cover was "Tomorrow Never Knows" (they didn't finish it).

They also performed a cover of obscure mid-70s British Christian folk group Aslan's "Fisherman's Song" that was brilliant. And a magnificent Status Quo cover as well (can't remember the title).

Great show - and Dead Meadow were insanely great as well.
