that's seven different women, and the one from miami needs sunscreen.
(EDIT: and nu-hippie repellant. what the fuck is banhart doing? it's nice to see the anthony kiedis' torch of obnoxiously gesticulating without any reason at all while nowhere close to a stage has been spastically passed. well i guess the whole photo is just sad then.)
Yeah, this thread doesn't make Cat Power fans seem any weirder than they already are.

To quote Mary Woronov
"I hated hippies, hippies were scum."
Plus he's just the best damn Marc Bolan tribute act Ive ever heard. Even better than TRexstacy who's world renowned for it. All Banhart needs now is the right clothes.

Sorry to keep having a go at Banhart but its just so much fun. I think that the guys pretty much proof if any was needed that given the right circumstances even the most talentless hack can rise to some kind of prominence and that unfortunately even the indie music scene isnt exempt from this.:(

Have to disagree with this. I saw Banhart support Michael Gira (of Swans/Angels Of Light) in a tiny pub maybe 3.5-4 years ago. Just him and his guitar, sitting cross legged on a table. And it was magic. He had the entire crowd (all 40 or so of them) wrapped around his little finger, and we're talking mainly Swans fans here, which says a lot. His guitar playing/picking is absolutely superb. OK, his voice might annoy some, but so does Joanna Newsoms.
Having said all that, I do know he is away with the fairies quite a lot of the time, and personally I'm not really that into his more recent stuff and the stuff he has done with the band (including Vetiver), but the guy is most definitely talented.....
