Preorder The Ponys 'Turn The Lights Out' from the Matador Store or your local participating retailer to participate in Matador's third Buy Early Get Now promotion:

You get:

• an instant stream of the album now (release date will be March 20)
• an exclusive MP3 (outtake from the album)
• an exclusive 5-song live EP download from their Schuba's gig in Chicago in January
• and then, on release, a poster designed by Melissa Elias and exclusive to this promotion (supplies limited)

Here's how it works: When you pre-order "Turn the Lights Out," you'll receive information and a unique code via email to download the b-side and the exclusive live EP, and then when release date (3/20) rolls around, the posters will ship with the album - or you can pick up both at your local participating retailer.

I just noticed that there's a bonus track on itunes if you buy the album there. But it's only if you buy the whole album. Is there anyway else to get it? It sounds like it's a good song but I don't want to buy the frickin' record twice. Will it be available in itunes by itself eventually? Or will it be a single b-side?

And uh, why wasn't it offered to the Buy Early crowd? Festival Ghost was good, but I want more. I love all the songs so far. Maybe I'm being selfish.

This is a constant struggle for all record labels these days and was one of the motivating factors when developing the Buy Early Get Now concept. We really try to make it worthwhile for the BEGN folks, and I think we got some really cool stuff this time, but we couldn't do it all.

Right now we have no other plans for that song or plans to make it available separately. That isn't to say that might not change in the future though. This is where I was gonna have a quote from "Kung Fu" but I forget the exact wording.
