so cat power worked with faithless or something right??
I think cat power should work with more electronic dance music artists. Let me tell you there is alot of dance music being produced and they are always looking for talented vocalists.
I guess this post is more for the matador people who work with her. I just wanted to get this idea out there. Its a good way to spread cat powers name. especially in europe dance music is big there with the young people. Its already pretty big i north america also.
i can just imagine her voice in a house or trance track or something. Like i said the producers for dance music always need good vocalists and they are making alot of music. it will be very easy to get her beautiful voice on a club track that people will dance to.
Ive seen so many dance remixes for great vocalists like: britney spears, dido, coldplay etc. and the list goes on. I think its about time cat power did the same. And to let u know dance music is amazing now. ITs not just music for dancing anymore- the producers making this music are making very deep and emotional tracks.

Well I dont know if you bought the Faithless album , but the one with Chan is not really a dance song, it's not dance at all actually. I would see Chan singing with Eminem haha did you see her singing to one of his songs?
You have a good idea but not sure if someone would be good enough to make it work with Chan...or maybe they could remix her version of Crazy. People could dance like crazy people LOL

have you all heard the track "disown, delete" Chan did vocals on for this group called Ensemble ? Absolutely incredible.
She's done a lot of others, I dont really like the handsome boy modelling school track she did, kinda monotonous. Her vocals on the last dirty three album was great, great lyrics too I would assume she wrote.

dude well faitheless is considered electronic dance music. the music has a steady beat and the sound elements are electronic and actually similar to trance.
so that is what i am saying- there is alot of electronic dance music and stuff related to this genre- there is alot of music in this category. and the music doesnt sound like just music for dancing. its refined electronic music with feeling and emotion. some if it happens to be danceable.

Jesus that first post sent shivers down my spine. If Chan ever ends up being one of those dolly bird "vocalists" doing the vocals for some sub-standard pop trance crap I will hunt you down and kill you! :)
And to compare Chan Marshall to Britney Spears and Dido, well, I don't think I need add any more.
Seriously though, the trance stuff you speak of is the dregs of electronic music. If you want to hear decent electronic music with female guest vocalists, listen to Plaid, or Orbital, or even The Chemical Brothers.

No mention yet of her on the new Yoko Ono album?

I was a little disapointed with this CD, i thought it was a range of artists covering Yoko Ono songs but they are all collaborations. Chan plays the piano and then the sing together, i can't help thinking i would have preferred chan doing the song on her own because it's a nice song. Their voices sound a bit odd together.
