This is incredibly tough. After many listens, it was tied. After many more listens, it comes down to "Chump Change."
Hands down, this has to be the best Matador release so far this year.

"Testament To Youth in Verse" stands out the most to me. In fact, I think that Dan Bejar's are all around stupendous on this record (though "Jackie" still remains my favorite).

I'd go for
Divine Right
The New Face of Zero and One
Electric Version (should be in the title track thread)
The Laws Have Changed

I'm really loving "All for Swinging You Around." I'm actually liking it better then the two Neko lead vocal tracks on Mass Romantic.

I'm man enough to admit that "The Laws Have Changed" nearly brought tears of joy to my eyes the first few times I listened to it. It remains my favorite track, though there's not a single one I don't like on the whole album...

Actually, I can't believe I omitted "From Blown Speakers". I think that's probably my fave.

That was what I had tied to "Chump Change." It changes everyday now back and forth.
It's pretty amazing when cranked way the fuck up.
Having said that, when will the "hey, don't blow your speakers" comments begin?

The first song that grabbed me (mostly because neumu.net had for download) and the one that I listen to on repeat is The Laws Have Changed. I can't get enough of it. The melody is wonderous, Neko's vocals are sublime. However, I do love the whole album. It's really, really good. I didn't care much for Mass Romantic....

My favourite song off of the record is which ever one I'm listening to. Right now it's The End Of Medicine.I like 'em all more and more each time I play it. What a great album.
silence is a rhythm too (http://www.geocities.com/mss_35/TheRezidence.html)

Here's the question: what does the record remind you of? An era? A group of bands? Particular songs?
