Schizophrenia...

I only just now found out that Schizophrenia's Weighted Me Down is a Sonic Youth cover...I've been looking for the original but I can't find any mp3's or even what album it's on. does anyone know where I can find the SY version?

It's half a Sonic Youth song (Schizophrenia) & half a Skip Spence song (Weighted Down) the melody is probably closer to the Skip Spence song than the Sonic Youth song. Weighted Down can be found on the record "Oar" which is a weird and wonderful record ...as is "Sister" , but in a completely different way. Skip Spence was a member of the group Moby Grape in the sixties (who Chan has covered also) and I believe he also was briefly in Jefferson Airplane. Chan's combining of the two songs is brilliant & she's probably the only one that could pull something like that off..let alone even coming up with the idea.
