I have my player playing Willie Deadwilder (the 18:18 version)
over and over again
and I ain't gettin' tired of it.
I could play it every day.
Please don't let it worry you none.
Memories have planted.
Rings around our sweet friendship.
I deeply say to you now.
I'm paraphrasing, of course.
You take my heart, and you give it to me.
This is your your life.
You know what it is that you gotta do.
We have so much to do.

Such a beautiful song. I have no idea why Chan recorded The Greatest's version: I really don't like it.
what is the '18:18 version?' thanks.

The 18:18 version is on the "Speak For Trees" DVD by Cat Power. It's a bonus cd track because it was too long to be included on the "You Are Free" LP. It's a great track and a great DVD.

I love the Cat Power. It has some power over me...

Both songs are truly something to behold. The line in 'Willie' on The Greatest in which Chan sings 'There are some people who dont believe in love, but Willie and Rebecca proved them all wrong', I think is particulary poignant.

It's a great track and a great DVD.
That's what I think too...
The DVD is like a Cat Power solo concert in nature. Very nice.

Yeah, I personally love to see her solo, than with a band. It's much more intimate and she talks to the crowd. Of course you run the risk of her breaking down and crying, but that's part of it. The dvd is great! I love to put it on when I'm having a lazy day, the sound of her voice is so relaxing and sounds of nature in the background just give it such a beauty that's hard to describe. Ya know? Be good:)
