How'd they graduate so fast?
How'd they graduate so fast? No one bought their boring-ass record?
No one bought their boring-ass record?
I wish that were true. Oh man, do I wish that were true....

are they really that bad? I heard the mp3 that matador hosted when their record first came out, and it wasn't that bad.

I like the album (and the Loose Crochet CD) but was unmoved by the live set I saw.

I thought the album was actually really good (though not as good as Palm Fronds), but yeah, the live show couldn't have been more boring, which was rough considering they were following Celebration, who were tremendous.

"Idiocy" is a great song, unfortunately consumers frown on the idea of releasing an album with only one song. Graeme Downes could not be reached for comment.

"Idiocy" is far from the best song on the album, though, so...

don't make me pull out a couple classics from my Hyperbole Playbook to defeat your argument, Tino

What's Graeme Downes got to do with it, other than being a Matador alumnus with a fairly impressive back-catalogue under his belt?

well, I'll wager you made time to listen to the album once, maybe twice maximum before the FINAL ULTIMATE JUDGEMENT had to be written down in the big book, I eagerly await said hyperbole! It'll be funny! ;)
The record as a whole is solid, but unfortunately the lack of any real huge standouts (including "idiocy" which is total middle of the pack on that record) combined with a really static, uninspired live show made a hard product to sell...

Could it be simply a bad choice of band name? It's pretty uninspired.

'Maloze' on the other hand...
Man, I really miss the fun this board generated not so long ago. Sober_id, where are you?
