Does anyone know if there are live recordings of the 'Myra Lee/Dear Sir' era? I've never heard any of those tracks live?
one other thing... is there a complete listing of Chan's Peel session appearances?
The oldest stuff I've got is one live version of "great expectations" recorded in 1998 in Paris and one live version of "headlights" (unknown place and date), I might have some others, I'll tell you.

Thanx to both of you!
is there anyway to get a copy of this stuff?
I guess that you cannot download from the BBC site. also, I know there was more John Peel stuff-because there is something I have downloaded where he introduces Cat Power playing a Mary J Blige cover of 'deep inside'.

"Deep Inside" is the second track on the Maida Vale 2000 session. It's on there.

Moon Pix, unfortunately-I can't get the stuff on the bbc site to play-let alone download.
Same with yrs, Elliot. am I doing something wrong?

You need Real Player to listen to the BBC stuff. In any case if I remember correctly only a few seconds of each of the Covers Session are played, the full versions are not available.
Elliot, is there any chance you could upload those babies somewhere for us?

Is that allowed here?

Well, most of the "Cat Power links" thread is made up of links to various live shows and Youtube videoa that are available on blogs and the like, so I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to send a link. It's all old stuff anyway, and it's not like they are official releases. It would be great to hear them...

No you can't. I did this a while ago and Patrick took the post away. He explained it to me and he's right. If somebody who owned the rights to those recordings saw them posted here they could sue Matador for hosting the recordings.

But Matador wouldn't be hosting anything, it would simply be a link within a post to another website that is hosting it. By that logic all of the links to the many many bootleg recordings of live shows that have been linked on here before should have been taken down, which hasn't happened.
Elliot, maybe you could upload them somewhere, and invite people to message you in order to get the link from you?
