thanks everyone! my head hurts from one martini too many last night ... nothing that seeing SY play 'daydream nation' today won't fix. (i hope.)

i'm relatively certain i saw you pass by me tonight - were you wearing an orange shirt? it looked like you were heading for the exit, making a phone call just before sonic youth went on, so i didn't stop you.

yeah that was probably me! my friend was running late, and they wouldn't let you leave tickets at will call, so i was making a mad dash to the entrance to hand over her ticket. worked out fine though, didn't miss any of SY.

i thought they were great! though the sound at the pool left something to be desired - the thurston/lee guitar balance seemed off for a lot of the 'daydream nation' songs. i thought it sounded better for all the new stuff, though. 'DN' was still so good though, especially the first half. (so weird knowing a setlist in advance too!)

yeah, the show was awesome. i didn't notice much of an imbalance between the guitars, but i did expect it to be a little louder (even in spite of being outside). but whatever, that is a totally minor complaint, it was great to finally see them.

and kim gordon's dance moves during the rather ripped songs = A++.

yeah agreed on the volume. sonic youth shows were among the first to get me to wear earplugs, and i didn't even take mine out yesterday. re: guitar balance, i suspect the sound at the pool varies depending on where you stand. but yes, all minor complaints...

this was your first SY show? hell of a gig to start with. i never get tired of seeing them...
