the server always smiles at Nardwuar's shtick, but then remembered that it grows weary after a bit.

(EDIT: p.s. trying to block out the full implications of the byob-cheap time comparison to the drug-addled, emotionally manipulative dynamics of fleetwood mac. maybe it's because my little sister just went away to start college. they grow up so fast!)

Some matablog issues I've noticed:

I'm not seeing anything newer than the 9/16 streaming Mogwai post. The Belle & Sebastian entry that's linked on the homepage doesn't show up when I click on the blog.

Clicking the categories on the right doesn't do anything. It reloads the main blog page with all the entries.

Weird, it works for me. What happens when you click the Belle link from the home page? It takes me to the Belle post.

I'm assuming you've hit refresh...

What computer, OS and browser are you using?

Mac OS X 10.5.4. I'm getting the same behavior in both Safari and Firefox (and yes, I've refreshed). The B&S link works fine. It takes me to the individual post. But when I click the regular matablog link, the Mogwai post is at the top. There's nothing newer than 9/16 (the B&S post is from 9/19).

likewise the most recent entry on the matablog is the 9/16 mogwai entry. clicking on the b&s link from the main page brings me to the b&s entry. i can read the posts in between by clicking on the individual links (<< great moments in outdoor marketing, etc) but any time i click the matablog link it takes me to the mogwai post. refreshing has not changed anything. i could try emptying my cache but i'm not going to because of work reasons.

It would be nice if the balance of content could be tipped a little more towards the prime meridian! Other than the odd post about forthcoming tour dates, posts about events, releases etc are dominated by US-centric content.

I just read that "Records out today" post on the blog, and I'll admit it annoyed me a bit from the point of view that both of those albums were released in the UK yesterday (and, somewhat inconsequentially, in Ireland last Friday).

Sure, the base of operations is in the US, but the customer base is global, and a little more of an outward view would go a long way, methinks. That's my tuppence ha'penny worth for the day.
