Has anyone seen this video/dvd? i think it's some live footage, and some footage around dayton. Jamming on the porch with Demos, or something.
I just ordered it. Its hard for me to imagine it not being classic, but somewhere i think it was mentioned that the sound quality is poor.

I've heard from reliable sources that all the videos/DVDs that aren't "Watch Me Jumpstart" are a waste of time... but who can say?

"Watch Me Jumpstart" is awesome. "The Who Went Home And Cried" has it's great moments and is worth buying. "Some Drinking Implied" is a waste of money.
As lond as you ordered it on DVD it's a good buy- there's some great versions of Bee Thousand songs live at the end, worth it alone- the Echos Myron is especially great. However, while it's interesting enough, it sometimes can be infuriating, due to poor quality.

The part with the poor quality on The Who Went Home and Cried - ie. "the porch sessions," is my favourite part of the DVD, and I like it much better than the concert, even though Demos is fucking hilarious during that part (especially when he gets the mic chord caught on his bass) You get used to the poverty production of the porch sessions after only a couple of viewings. Never having seen Watch me Jumpstart, it's my only real visual knowledge of the way GBV interacts with members of the Monument Club and Northridge at large. And it's done in a completely natural way, because I don't think it was recorded with the purpose of ever having it release, but more as a personal document of Demo's last gig. I think that the blond girl who quickly walks past the camera during the one song may even be Kim Pollard.

i've watched this this past weekend (vhs version) and it's superb. i never really see bob pollard play guitar, so its interesting from that angle for me. dayton in springtime seems like a dreamworld. the sound is spotty but you get used to it. i'd say highly recommended.
there was a big article in the ny times this weekend all about dayton ohio and a big festivle there this summer celebrating the wright bros. i'd say it'd be cool for gbv to play that..and do mostly the aeronautic themes tunes. and recruit sprout and make it a reunion type gig.
