Too bad they couldn't book a club for the second LA show. Have to say I'm not to excited about seeing them at an open air street festival in Silver Lake. I'm sure they could sell out another show at Spaceland.
I've been to Sunset Junction the past 2 years, and while there have been great bands playing, i.e. Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Elliott Smith, etc. the shows have pretty much sucked. You can't move, or see the bands at all. I hope GBV set up another LA area show too.

They'll be back for plenty more on the West Coast before the end of the year.

Why'd they pick a dive like Spaceland? Is this a warm up gig? Last year they had what seemed like a quite successful show at the House of Blues on the Strip. Any chance they'll play there again?
I've got an idea..why dont you people complain a little? ..GBV play a small intimate show and a nearly free outdoor show in LA and its not enough..
maybe they can set something up in your backyard & bring all the beer.

The intimate show would be nicer if I had tickets for it
I too don't have tickets. I was lazy and waited too long. And the outdoor show isn't free it's 8$. Also, if you've been to Sunset Junction you'll get what I'm talking about.

As far as I'm concerned, GBV should be seen one way: in a club, at night, with beer in hand. I hate outdoor shows, especially in the daytime when the band is pressed for time and there's a bunch of looky-loos who don't have any idea who the band is. I'll skip it.
"The intimate show would be nicer if I had tickets for it"
So if you had tickets for it all would be OK, huh ?...but since you dont you somehow insinuate its the bands fault .....nice
....it seems to me that one of your favorite bands is playing 2 shows in your hometown but you'd rather sit home and complain then make any real effort to see them......

Sorry, but I have the opinion that the band could have chosen better venues for LA than a 260 cappacity bar and a street festival. Is there a reason I can't have that opinion? It seems to be backed up by several people here.
