I am planning on buying the LP of Electric Version, but I have a question first. Like Dischord's site, your store doesn't give any shipping information. How much is shipping? Thanks.

I don't know about the Matador store, but Dischord merch is post-paid.

I think it's like $2.99 or something like that? check out Insound, they're the ones filling the orders, the shipping's identical.

Has Insound gotten any better?

my pre-order of the Yo La Tengo album arrived over a week after it was released, so... nope.

honestly, I never judge an online store based on its ability to get you pre-orders on time. I've NEVER had it come on time from anywhere. Every other order from insound I've made (and that's a lotta orders) have come flawlessly and on time... so I still highly endorse it.

Though Scratch Records in Canada has now eclipsed insound.. I like their selection better, and lotsa vinyl.

I still have yet to order anything from the Matastore though. I guess its easy enough to find anything they release, and I usually resort to online purchases for stuff I'd never find in a store...

Order the LP through Scratch Records (http://www.scratchrecords.com). You'll get the Mint version, which is still the 150gm pressing, but several dollars cheaper (it's $4-6 cheaper than any Matador LP).

Beware the out of print vinyl. I've been told on three separate occasions that something I found there was mistakenly left on the web site, but was no longer in stock.

yeah, I second that...

One time in a fit of "I've hit a goldmine"-type glee, I ordered "Blood," by the Microphones, "Thief" by Destroyer and "Auspicious Winds" by Yume Bitsu all on vinyl, and got a sad email saying all three were out of print. It wasn't so much a disappointment, cos I knew they were out of print, but I was REALLY hoping that Canadians just didn't care as much about those records and never bought them, and nobody else had any sense to look for them there. but they do and they did...

We (and Insound) endeavor to ensure that any orders on or slightly before street date. As many people happily discovered with the Pavement Slanted Deluxe reissue and DVD, it is possible to get your order several days before street date.

However, it is also possible - though we try to avoid it - that you'll get your order after street date. Shipping is an inexact science (unless you're overnighting stuff). But I've heard very few complaints of getting new stuff late, at least for orders within the US.

Freight charges should be identical to Insound. We should have something on the Store about that. I'll get on it.

Mint didn't press this on vinyl, It's the Matador version, but you are indeed right about the pricing.

That's what I meant, that's why I pointed out it was still the 150gm pressing, but he'd find it listed as a Mint release on the site.
