i dont wanna sound like a spoilt git but this sucks!!!!
i dont think adelaide gets alot of band respect because we are late ticket buyers...but at all the gigs i have gone to they seem fairly packed....i guess its just adelaide's nature.

I was pissed off when it was announced that Badly Drawn Boy wasn't coming to adelaide
I was pissed off when it was announced that Beck wasn't coming to adelaide
I was pissed off when it was announced that Coldplay wasn't coming to adelaide....

But now Cat Power isn't coming...which really sucks...because Beth Orton came to adelaide at the start of this year...and she played at the thebarton theatre...and totally sold out the gig to the tune of 3000 people and 3 encores. When bands come to adelaide we really do cherish them.

If you do decide to come to adelaide i've got a couple of suggestions as to the venue...do not play at the entertainment centre. Its dark and has concrete floors and a terrible atmosphere and a capacity that would not on its most productive day sell out. Either play at the Thebarton Theatre or the Governor Hindmarsh...the atmosphere of those venues are incredible...The Gov would be a much more intimate gig though.

I really hope you reconsider coming to Adelaide because there is a huge...underestimated fan base for Cat Power down here...and it would be a shame if you missed us.

bentley - the last two adelaide catpower shows have been at the gov...i'd even go as far as saying she should play at the Jade Monkey (like Richard Buckner did earlier in the year) or the Grace Emily (like Joe Pernice, Kurt Wagner, Will Oldham, Smog etc. have done in the past).

Maybe we should campaign Triple J about it since they're presenting the show?

well, i agree with the sentiments about adelaide.....

however, the neanderthals in brisbane don't deserve decent concerts, VB and XXXX seems the get them by...... and performing in PERTH while bypassing the beautiful sleepy city??

i agree with the views expressed about thebby theatre by someone down the list, but the gov hindmarsh is not an excellent music venue.... ironically, i'd rate heaven nightclub as miles better than the gov.... and there are probably a few places like her majesty's theatre and the like that are probably quite good..... and a few old theatre's in the inner suburbs.
