I was introduced to Matador's mustachioed co-owner, Chris Lombardi. Chris is likewise charming and charismatic in discourse. He is handsome in an Errol Flynn-after-a-bender sort of way, and I imagined him in a grape-stained toga, his laurel wreath askew, tossing slaves to the lions to appease his insatiate boredom and--to borrow a line from Bellow--pouring champagne on his dick, and roaring.

i can't believe someone mentioned chris lombardi. isn't it board and basically matador's policy not to even acknowledge the existence of chris. i thought he died years ago and was being hidden in gerard's closet, being preserved in formaldyhide or something.

is chris the penn or teller, whichever one is the quiet one, of matador?

Chris is neither Penn nor Teller though I think the post from the Pretty Girls Make Graves tour diary is a nice, albiet brief, summation of his larger than life personality.

Though he does not maintain a regular presence on this board, rest assured, he loves you all.
