Anyone heard it? Any opinions?

I'm an incredible Massive Attack fan....so I'll be the first to declere that so my great sadness this isnt a great album. It's a very good album....but it lacks in so many areas. Basically everything that made Mezzanine a ridiculously perfect album....is missing from 100th Window. MA have basically turned into Kid A....3D does nothing now but sing in a droning, haunting style....as opposed to his hypnotic, claustrophobic, dark hip hop style that we've heard before.

I guess everything is subjective though, if you are a Massive Attack fan its definitely worth picking up, but if you hold Mezzanine in as high a regard as most MA fans, 100th Window will sound disappointing.

I love Mezzanine and also find the new effort to be every bit as engaging, if not better in different ways.

anagrama just likes to play the role of the message board knowitall.

no, I don't.

In this area Im just giving an opinion, I think 100th Window is a droning, dull, uninspiring effort. It has its moments for sure (what your soul sings, special cases, antistar, etc) but it also has blatantly weak and repetitive tracks. 3D shouldnt have been listening so adamantly to the new Radiohead albums because their influence over 100th Window is horrid and very obvious.

I think it's an awesome album.

Not as good as Blue Lines or Mezzanine, but better than Protection.
