Earles talked about this on his blog a couple months ago but I didn't mention it because I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a secret or not. Can't wait!
Listening to the mp3, Ditchweed came from a great WFMU bit (or is it the other way around)

I feel like I remember seeing a track from this on a sampler I saw at Borders ages ago and wondered what the story was

I didnt really get the "Ditchweed" one (too peculiarly American maybe) but if theres more stuff like the "Bedroom ETA" skit Ill definitely be getting it when it comes out.:)

Wow. Those mp3s are incredible.
Anyone know how Earles was involved on The Best Show? I thought Wurster was the only accomplice.

Earles used to call in, as did Jon Benjamin and some other UCB-theatre regulars before Scharpling decided he wanted to focus on just Wurster bits late last year. Before that though, you heard Earles if you heard any of the Angry Mr Bungle Fan bits, private dick Skag Winesack, the bad doctor (can't remember his name), Captain Catchphrase, Stacy Keach, Freedom Eagle the disc jockey whose Top 500 was almost entirely Led Zep sideprojects, Skip Bingham aka Extreme Dad (as heard reprised in the mp3) off the top of my head.

Will there be a pre-order for this soon?

Record has been bumped to April 22, see Matablog, so soon, yes, but not as soon as one might have hoped... but at least there will be a 4th MP3 soon.
