"Choking Tara" (Creamy Version) is so great. GBV should really do a whole album like that...not just hi-fi production, but with the perfect-sounding production/instrumentation that did for this song. Anyway, that's all.

I'd love to hear them re-record B000 or Alien Lanes with the current band with Rob Schnapf producing

I wouldn't. They've tried to recreate the sound before and it just didn't work.
Yeah, it would ruin some of the mysticism that I think there is around B000, BUT i'd like A live bootleg of all the stuff the current lineup has played off these albums.

This whole re-recording idea caused a big hoo-hah on the Guided by Robert Pollard guestbook a while back. The forces for and against hi fi-ing the classics clashed in a terribly stimulating (and sometimes downright mean) debate.
Personally, I dont need for it to happen, but I can understand somebody wanting it to happen in the name of more widespread recognition.

The only pieces that I would like to hear re-recorded are a few tracks from Suitcase.

definitely in agreement there. the acoustic version of "Dusted" is better than the electric, and the 'non-electric' version of "Marchers in Orange" is also better than the electric.
