Hi everyone. Jukebox is now available for PRE-ORDER. On this one, Cat Power returns with her second album of cover songs, this one a tribute to the great vocalists who have influenced her over the years.

The album comes in two versions:
a. Deluxe silver-foil gatefold cover (on both LP and CD) with bonus disc containing extra tracks
b. Regular jewelcase version (CD only)

We've got the double-cd up for mailorder as well now.
The bonus disc is in fact vinyl on the double lp.

Sorry to say we couldn't get Buy Early Get Now for this release.
However, you can get a small discount off of the standard price by Pre-Ordering the record.

Two important clarifications...

The deluxe version second disc contains the 5 bonus tracks, in each format.

The vinyl does not contain an MP3 coupon - because these are cover songs, and we can't give away third-party songs for free. Sorry 'bout that folks.

And yes, the deluxe version will be available in UK shops, and worldwide.

The deluxe CD is limited-edition, though there will be quite a few of them.

The deluxe LP is the only edition, but our ability to re-press it cost-effecitvely in the foil gatefold is in question. Any change to it would be up to Chan, so that's in the future.

Perhaps I'm missing it, the bonus disc contains five songs on the CD and then five more, different songs on mp3? Or the mp3s are just of the CD songs? Or what? Maybe I'm just tired

Question for someone in Matador store: I'd like to order the Cat Power and The Times New Viking. The release date is the same. Will there be a pre-order for the TNV? I'd like to do it in the same order to cut down on shipping costs.

Also, I'm sure there's a good reason for it - the $23 price on the double LP seems steep? I think someone told me in another post that vinyl costs are going up.

Hmm, we'll get preorders up for both, for those of you with distinctive and flavorous tastes.

The vinyl is expensive - the gatefold silver-foil Stoughton jackets with two 180-gram HQ-180 RTI discs are not cheap! But will look and sound amazing.

Would anyone PLEASE explain to me why on Earth 2 years ago I bought The Greatest limited edition, and now I CAN'T by Jukebox deluxe? I live in Brazil, by the way.

I thought it was all about evolution, not the other way around...

It's because our store used to be powered by Insound. We took over fulfillment directly and have only been gradually adding new countries. I'll talk to our team and see if we can prioritize Brazil.

Mastering just normal this time - no time for Kevin Gray :(

Stoughton makes those thick, traditional jackets with paste-on slicks like '60s and early '70s gatefolds... they did the Joanna Newsom LP if you saw that.

That said, I'm listening the test pressings right now and the sound is glorious - rich, full and natural. Definitely better than the CD. Sterling have done a great job as always.

We've got "Speaking for Trees" in stock so that shouldn't delay your order, but at this late date the MLK holiday certainly might delay your order. If you need the record on Tuesday and it works for you Paul's CDs in Bloomfield (4526 Liberty Ave.) will def. have it. They may even have "Speaking For Trees" as well.

When will the ordered copies of the album be shipped to the UK. I have ordered stuff from other places and it has arrived on the day of release.I would just like it to arrive in time for the gig in London on the Sunday.

We aim to have them arrive by release date, shady... unfortunately due to the vagaries of international post it can sometimes take longer (though it's slower to Canada, oddly, than the UK). Look for your package soon.

Elliot, Musikvertrieb is our distributor in Switzerland and they absolutely should have the Cat Power deluxe vinyl. Ask your store if he can get it from Musikvertrieb. We're also following up on this from our end.

Sorry about that superineficaz... it's one of the great oddities that it takes longer to ship stuff from the US to Canada than it does to most of Europe.

I didn't receive a shipment notice either, but I think you know it has been shipped when your credit card has been debited.

I have a bit of an issue with my order too, the bonus CD from the Jukebox deluxe 2CD version was not included. :( I emailed the store@matadorrecords address, is that the right one to go to or should I try Dean?

Hi Everyone,
I want to drop a quick note to those that are still waiting for their copies of "Jukebox". We had a problem with our mailorder system over the holidays and a lot of the orders that were made didn't get delivered to me, and ultimately, didn't get sent out. A couple of days ago we became aware of, figured out how to solve the problem and are finally working to catch up on those orders. I know how exciting it is to wait for a record on its release date and how disappointing it is for it not to arrive. I'm sorry for this, and I guarantee that we'll have your orders out by the end of the day tomorrow.

Have you shipped out the 'Could we' single yet? I have tried sending you emails directly and thru the p.m. feature on this board. No replies. It seems that you only answer when asked in this public forum.
Is anyone else having this problem? Did any not recieve their 'free single'?
