Why Tuesdays?

Can anyone tell me why new releases (not just Matador, but all) come out on Tuesdays?

Is it a media thing?

Very exciting topic, I know, but I really want to know.

I've always assumed it was so shipments of new stuff could arrive safely on a Monday but the release day in Europe is Monday so that probably blows that theory.

I was kind of hoping it was something more exciting than that but I guess that makes perfect sense.
