$12 shipping to Europe must surely be a mistake. The last two were metered at $6.30, and billed at $10.50 and $4.50... You need to straighten the rates out!
Fiona,
It should only be $6-7.50. I'll check this out first thing in the morning

Sold out in less than a day? Why matador, why?

Jesus, I must have slipped in right under the wire then.
Its getting this tight and its only the 3rd one? Ugh. I've gotta say, I love Matador, and I love Jay Reatard, but this "each one more limited than the next" thing is silly and the kind of nerd-baiting that I think is counterproductive. Its stopped being about the songs and started being about who's quickest with the credit card on the site (and who knows, maybe the 5 copies pressed of the 6th record will just be dropped on street corners in unmarked boxes that people need to find based on clues? actually that would be pretty cool). And yeah, I know I could just chill and wait for the CD/LP when its all over, but why even bother doing the 7" thing then? Is it just to see nerds sweat? I don't like it.

I might add that the “limited, but we’re not saying how much” bit is a lot more than laughable.

Will there be reserves available to purchase at record stores on June 24th or does the sold out preorder mean they're sold out period?

In the weekly email I got from Goner Records (http://www.goner-records.com/cart/) yesterday, they said they were expecting to have this in stock by the end of the week. I took that to mean that other stores would be carrying it, too. Obviously that's just a guess on my part.

Stores will be getting some. You should check with your store and see if they have ordered them (If they haven't then we don't have any more to sell them.)

Quiet, you! We don't wanna go giving them any ideas.
Hey everyone,
I've been getting a lot of emails from upset people that ordered their 7" after we sold out of them.... I'm really sorry we couldn't help. We ran out of the records alloted for Matador mailorder in TWO HOURS...a crazily short amount of time that shocked us all. I wish there was a way I could send out records to all the people that ordered them but there just aren't enough.
That said, hope isn't lost. As Dave mentioned, a lot of stores will have copies. Call your local store to see if they're going to carry it. Also, there are some other online mailorder places that are going to carry the record next week. Check them out and maybe they'll still have it in stock...

Whoa, HUGE bummer in my inbox today.
Um, well, shit. I hope I can get to a store before its too late.
have fun with the single, those who weren't on a plane the 3 hours it was actually available...
Will all the artwork from the singles be available on .pdf to purchase from the matador store once the CD comes out?
Been thinking about this thread today and I gotta say I understand people being frustrated that they can't get their hands on these 7"s as the numbers go down, but I think this is a really great thing for Jay and Matador in general. It's getting a ton of attention and press for the releases and Jay Reatard as an artist, so in this regard Matador has been successful in the promotion department. Sure I want to own all these as much as the next guy (and I will settle for the downloads and lp comp if I have to), but I really do think this is a unique and beneficial thing they are doing here for their artist. I mean they aren't holding anyone back from hearing the music, they are just keeping us excited and on our toes trying to obtain a certain format.

As of the time of this posting, Goner's got it (http://www.goner-records.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=3669). Act fast.
**EDIT**
...and 10 hours later, it appears they don't got it. Try Reckless Records (http://www.reckless.com/index.php?keywords=reatard%2C+always+wanting+more&format=&cond=&store=&is_search=true&srch=Search).

yeah, thats the only thing that really annoys me with this whole thing. I can manage huddling around my computer, reloading the order page over and over to catch it right when it goes on sale. I'm not collector scum normally, matador is turning me into it, they should at least tell us what numbers we're working so hard for.

If anyone in the Dallas area wants this, check with Good Records. I bought the latest single there just today and they had one more copy on their new release rack, right by the register. They could still have more though in their back room.
They also still have a copy or two of both the See Saw and Painted Shut singles.

The limitations are:

That means that if “Always Wanting More” sold out in three hours, single #6 should sell out in about a half hour. Jeez.

And Patrick, thanks for posting the numbers. It's good to know what we're up against. This is gonna get ugly.

Yes we will do our best to get our stores some copies, but obviously they'll not be getting quantities.

Good luck, and I'm glad to know that post was helpful. I've never done mailorder from Reckless since I live here in Chicago, but I often use the website to check stock before going into the store. Their online inventory system seems to be pretty accurate and up to date, at least for the titles I check on, so I'm pretty confident that if it said it was available, they'll be able to fulfill your order.

yeah, i do the same but i've been burned before where the system SAYS they have it, and they probably do, but no one in the damned store can find it.
apparently they keep their hold lists forever, i think it was at an x-mas party todd was saying he got a call from them about something he'd asked them to keep an eye out for 6 years ago that finally came through one of the stores.

True! A couple years ago they called to let me know that they'd gotten a used copy of the Nine Below Zero album I had asked them for EIGHT YEARS earlier. I had still never found a copy -- by then I'd given up on it -- and they sold it to me for $1.99. Pretty amazing.

this is were a subscription would be nice. even if it were only 10 percent of the lowest edition. so 40. that surely would have pleased us faithfuls, or should i say hopefuls. granted, this will be released as a comp later, but come on. when that ebay shit is happening already, before we even receive ours. interested in what matador thinks of this.

I got mine today. I dont mind matador at all, i welcome the challenge of getting all the singles, i was bummed when the first 2 were so available. considering they sold out in just a few hours I'm sure they're swamped with orders to fill. I dont mean to sound like a teachers pet or worse. I just think matador is kicking ass with this 7" series in every way.

Nothing wrong with making them limited, of course. The idea of making each one MORE limited than the last, at least to me, seems a little over the top, that's all. hopefully I'll catch the rest!

it is a little over the top, true, but you've got to figure that since these are all coming out in one package, these singles are made to appeal to collectors. viewed from that standpoint, matador actually stands to make less money by not just pressing a few more across the board. it seems like they're having fun with it.
okay, anyway...that's enough of my defending matador for this year.
Some people just can't let go. It's like they missed the day Freud was taught in Freud School.
