For what little it's worth, I think this record is amazing. (I don't get why mbb people aren't talking about this one so much?) I will be much happier when my vinyl copy comes in the mail, but for now my morning run is elevated to a whole new level of intensity with TCoCL. I like that the first recognizeable word (at least to me) on the record is "motherfucker."

Going on discussion of the mp3s posted, I think I'm the only person here who really likes Fucked Up, and I'm waiting for my copy of the new album to arrive.

Going on discussion of the mp3s posted,

Hmmm. Looks like folks had issues with the screaming. It definitely took a listen or two for me to click with the vocals, but now that I have I'm sold and am going back to older hard core records that I haven't listened to in years. Indeed, now that I'm in "Chemisty of Com. Life", most of my record collections seems tepid. This too shall pass.

I got the EP off Amie Street, and thought it was interesting at points, but yes; the screaming seemed misplaced and over the top. Nevertheless, I thought it was good enough to warrant hearing the album; and I really do like it.

I suppose I should thank Amie Street for that discovery. If you're an early buyer there, everything is super cheap; cheaper than eMusic, even. Hence many purchases of albums that I might not even like that come out on labels with good track records.

Yeah, this album is great. I just got my LP copy ( I had a burn since late Sept.) and I think this (in my opinion) is one of the best matador releases I've heard in a while.

The vocals take some getting used to, but the lyrics are great (provided you can follow the lyric sheet) and the instrumentation is fantastic. Really dense, meaty hardcore. I'm loving Crooked Head, Twice Born, Son the Father, Looking for God...hell, I really love the whole record.

This was waiting for me on arriving back from seeing Fucked Up in Manchester. In the three weeks since then I've been listening to it regularly. The mp3s posted made me a bit wary, I was worried that the power of the guitars wasn't coming through and that overall it sounded less intense than I'd like.
It sounds AMAZING on vinyl, bursts out of the speakers. I'm sure the cd reflects the enormity of the sound as well. Definitely one of my favourite albums of the year.

Agreed - 100% - it does sound amazing on vinyl. I would also add that the packaging on the vinyl is beautiful, and - here I could be wrong- but I'm pretty sure there's an extra song on the vinyl? I don't remember it's name, but it's the sixth or seventh one on the record and it's fantastic. Am I right about this?

Can't wait to see them when they are back in Chicago in this winter.

Correct, extra song on the vinyl: The Peaceable Kingdom.
