I wanna buy a four-track, but I'd like to go out and buy one, rather than order one from eBay.
Can anyone suggest some places in NYC that I might purchase one, new or used?

I checked out their website, and I'm wondering if it's an actual store where I might go to browse? I'd really prefer physically going somewhere and looking at what I'm buying.
Also: I'm looking for some John Cage and Leo Brouwer records or sheet music. Any suggestions?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?

they have a physical store in the physical part of chelsea, the address I gave you before. But you might want to call them first to see what they have in the way of a 4-track.

You can surely get John Cage records at Other Music. Also at the little avant-garde record shop around E. 5th St. or so between Second and Third.
Actually, you can get John Cage CDs at Tower and Virgin, in the classical section. If you're looking for vinyl, that could be tougher. Ebay would be a good bet.

And I bet you could get CDs and sheet music at that crammed little classical store at Juilliard, just above street level (actually directly above Tully, on the pedestrian deck that flows over back toward the main Lincoln Center complex).

And yeah, I was told about Downtown Music somewhere else, and from the website it looks awesome. And I'll check out Rogue, in case they have anything else I might wanna see.

That sounds really neat. I'll have to check it out.
has moved to Bowery
West side of the street between 2nd (Bond) and 3rd (Great Jones) in the space formerly occupied by Satellite (which has moved south of Houston on Bowery on the East side of the street.)

I have dealt with DMG through mail-order before. Highly recommended. Good luck with the sheet music!
